החברה נוסדה ב-1958 בגרמניה ע"י האב המייסד, מר Hahnel (האנל), מתוך תשוקה ואהבה לתחום הצילום, שהתחיל את דרכו כמפיץ ציוד קולנוע מקצועי בקלן שבגרמניה.
לאורך הזמן החברה צמחה ובשנת 1975 פתחה קו ייצור באירלנד, שם גם הוקמו המטה המרכזי והמרכז הלוגיסטי, ממנו מייצאת החברה למדינות אירופה ואנגליה .
החברה רשמה הישגים רבים בתחום הפיתוח והראשוניות של מטענים חכמים ,סוללות ליתיום נטענות ואביזרי צילום רבים, וכיום היא מייצאת מהונג קונג ואירלנד למעל 25 מדינות .
